Banks Significantly Outperform Captive Lenders in Dealer Satisfaction for Prime Business

2022 J.D. Power U.S. Dealer Financing Satisfaction Study

In the 2021 J.D. Power US Dealer Financing Satisfaction Study, captive lenders and their bank competitors were nearly identical in satisfaction scores with captive lenders having a slight edge. After surveying over 3,500 dealers, banks have made substantial improvements in 2022, with a 14-point increase in satisfaction year-over-year.

Banks also significantly improved year-over-year on the factors that drive overall satisfaction, including the funding process, the most heavily weighted factor, by 22-points.
